The championship began in excellent conditions, with players enjoying favourable weather through qualifying and the early knockout rounds. Saturday saw the round of 16 and quarter-finals completed, before a dramatic final day brought colder temperatures and a challenging wind that tested every aspect of the players’ games.

In the semi-finals, Maybel faced fellow Chelmsford member, Lily Frost in a closely fought contest, while Olivia Savage took on Emily Dixon. With two of the semi-finals going to extra holes, spectators were treated to a thrilling afternoon of championship golf.

Maybel carried her impressive form into the final against Emily Dixon, rising to the challenge in difficult conditions to secure the county title and cap an outstanding week of golf.
